Award winning Dicky Bag is a Newquay based company created by Barry and Mandy Davies. They manufacture and sell a unique bag that is  known as the 'civilised way to carry dog pool' Over the years they have built up a range of products including treat bags and settle matts. 

The Brief

Mandy and Barry made the decision to move from WordPress to a Shopify website to simplyfy the management of their website and take advantage of the streamlined checkout process. Working alongside a marketing agency we provided the technical support to ensure a streamlined website resulted, ensuring we bridged the gap between aesthetics and functionality. We managed the complex migration from their legacy WordPress/WooCommerce site, handling the critical data transfer, logistics setup, and technical SEO and redirects. The goal was a launch that looked good and performed flawlessly from day one.

Keeping rankings during migration

As the old site was very well optimised for SEO, and was an amazing source of organic search traffic, it was important for us to ensure the old URLs were properly redirected to their new pages. This is a key area that is all too often overlooked by website designers and can result in significant loss in traffic.  Keeping an eye on traffic and rankings after the transition is important so any dips in traffic can be addressed.
