Comfish Marine

Operating out of Newquay and Camborne the owners Natalie and Ben Eglinton sell everything from ropes to electronics, first aid kits to net rigging services to the Commercial and Leisure Marine Sector. Ben comes to the business with a wide experience as a fisherman, engineer and fishmonger.

The Brief

Ben and Natalie approached Channel Digital as they were keen to have a fresh new website which was integrated with an accounting package. The aim was to create a more modern, mobile-friendly, higher search-ranking website which is easy for customers to use and themselves to manage.

The new website would improve the business process making it more efficient by integrating website sales with their accounting system.

Custom coding / Integrations

• WooCommerce with Cardstream payment system. (Other payment systems can be integrated, including Stripe, Paypal and Klarna.)
• WooCommerce with Xero, using a direct integration or automated web app service

Technology

A change of website platform to the WordPress Content Management System (CMS) as it is easy to use, customise and extend with many features already built in. The shop was set up with the WooCommerce online store extension, along with other extensions for additional features and functionality.

A visual theme was developed using a fast loading, mobile and search-engine friendly template framework included with Channel Digital’s own unique speed and security features to keep the website safe and fast loading for visitors.

The design was geared around making online purchases and contact for enquiries quick and easy across small (mobile) to large (desktop PC) screen sizes.
